Our MBA Team

Chad Mahoney – President and CEO: Chad first joined the MBA as a member in 2008 and quickly became very active with the association, serving on multiple committees and eventually as our longtime convention committee chairman. The MBA Board of Directors selected Chad to be our President/CEO in December 2022.

Chad is a veteran broadcaster with a career that spans parts of four decades. It began at his hometown radio station when he was 16 years old. He has held various positions, from on-air work to executive leadership roles, at radio and television stations in Missouri, Oklahoma and Illinois.

While working as a broadcast journalist, Chad received multiple national and regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, regional Emmy® Awards, and hundreds of awards from broadcasters’ associations in multiple states. While covering the Illinois State Capitol in the 1990s and early 2000s, Chad was named “Best Investigative Reporter” by both the Associated Press and the Illinois Broadcasters Association—an honor he earned for five consecutive years.

In addition to his role with the MBA, Chad volunteers with a number of industry groups across Missouri. He’s a board member for the Missouri Sunshine Coalition, which advocates in support of government transparency; he’s a member of the Missouri Press-Bar Commission, which was established to foster better communications between the media, the bench and bar; and he serves on the Board of Governors for the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Terri Stutheit – Office Manager and Member Services Coordinator: Terri was born and raised in the St. Louis area. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Truman State University. Prior to joining the MBA, Terri worked as an Office Manager for television and radio stations, insurance companies, not-for-profits and law offices. She was actively involved with the Quincy Community Theatre where she was an actress on stage and worked on the backstage production crews. Terri spent 10 years as the Office Manager with MBA member station WGEM and became a regular at MBA functions starting in 2015. Terri and her husband Aaron have 4 children, 2 grandsons and 2 dogs. Much of her immediate family lives in Mid-Missouri.

Greg Baker – Missouri Public Education Program (MO-PEP) Coordinator: Greg collaborates with non-profit organizations and state agencies to effectively communicate their missions and programs through broadcast and digital media.

Greg is an alumnus of the University of Missouri, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. His professional background includes significant development experience with Scouting America in fundraising, community outreach, and special event coordination. Greg served as the Marketing Director for CenturyLink, Socket Internet and Missouri Press Service. He started his career in broadcast sales with local radio station groups. Greg’s volunteerism includes Scouting America, United Way, America Red Cross, and local Chambers of Commerce.

With a strong foundation in broadcasting and a commitment to public service, Gregory is well-equipped to advance the objectives of MO-PEP and support the success of Missouri’s broadcasters.

Rachael Heffner, CH – Digital and Creative Lead: Rachael joined the MBA in July of 2020, and she has nearly a decade of experience in the broadcast industry. She previously served as the graphic designer for the Missouri Press Association before making the move into the broadcast world, working as the local sales assistant for The Networks of Mid-Missouri in Columbia, and eventually becoming a newscast producer. Rachael then moved to Las Vegas, where she worked as a news producer for FOX5 and a writer for The Las Vegas Food & Beverage Professional magazine.

In 2014, Rachael earned her hypnosis certification with The National Guild of Hypnotists, and she now specializes in past life regression. In 2020, she became the first NGH-Certified Hypnotist in the world to write and stream free hypnosis sessions to the general public on Twitch, and she is now compiling a book of those hypnosis scripts that she plans to publish. In addition, Rachael is a mixed-media artist, creating drawings using pencil, Sharpies, colored pencils, Copic/Ohuhu/Tombow markers, and gel pen.
