The Illinois Broadcasters Association’s Station of the Year and dominant #1 NBC affiliate seeks a Weekend Anchor.
Known for journalistic excellence, WGEM News has won National Edward R. Murrow Awards, multiple Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, Regional Emmy® Awards, and is the recipient of dozens of state broadcasters’ association awards in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri each year.
The station, located in Quincy, Illinois, seeks a hands-on experienced journalist to produce and anchor Saturday and Sunday newscasts, post digital content and work closely with weekend reporters. In addition to weekend duties, this position includes reporting three days a week.
Experience:
The successful candidate will have proven skills to develop sources, work a beat and own the lead story every day. This position requires on-camera reporting, newscast producing, anchoring, photojournalism and non-linear editing skills. Weekday fill-in anchoring is also possible. Experience with Avid iNews, Avid Media Composer, Word Press and Social News Desk is a benefit.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a degree in journalism and on air television experience.
