The Digital Content Manager (DCM) oversees the duties of the Digital Content Center, which includes posting content on digital and social media platforms, curating stories from social media and scanners, and answering phones.   The Digital Content Center also oversees crew assignments and is responsible for confirming and distributing breaking news information.   The Digital Content Manager is the digital analyst, strategist, and engagement manager that helps coordinate and manage content across digital platforms.   Coordinates and manages a continuous flow of news, information, and images from various sources, including Meredith Local Media websites and other digital platforms.    The DCM prioritizes and works with digital content managers across the company, to produce online content that can be shared across the group.   Throughout the day, the DCM monitors metrics, assuring the station is maximizing engagement, page, and video views.   Works with the Content Hub to maximize viewer experience through enhanced coverage elements and interactive content and video.   Collaborates with management and producers, and other stations in the group, to complement special event coverage and on-going strategic broadcast initiatives, including elections, weather coverage, and major breaking news events.  Creates an environment to take content development and platform usage to the next level.  Continually develops social networking and interactions to grow audience.  Regularly meets with staff to review digital performance and best practices.   The work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including on-air, website, app, and social media.

Experience:
Three to five years in a major market newsroom. Internet content, mobile management is required.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong editorial skills.

Working knowledge of digital technologies.

Newsroom computer skills.

Excellent communicator & trainer

% Travel Required (Approximate):  5-10%
